Oh, Valentine’s Day is coming up? I’ve been on a jewelry kick this month – hint, boyfriend, hint – and LuShae Jewelry contacted me just n time to let me know that they are running a blogger competition where a monthly winner is chosen for a $200 cash prize, in addition to 15% off the store if you enter. Here are some of their heart-friendly pieces just in time for February.

Love the assemblage of various materials in LAS Jewelry’s bib necklaces. Their lookbook is full of dramatic shots and worth a look as well.

Fuzzy, flesh-toned pieces in Lizzie Fortunato’s Ragdoll necklace, part of her line for the always-body-conscious VPL.

While the pieces aren’t exactly my style, I still love this up close shot in the October 2009 catalog from Anthropologie.

Beauty in stillness at Karen Walker’s jewelry collection, shot by Derek Henderson.

It is so on with the countdown to V-Day! I gotta tell you, this may be hard to believe, but I am not much of a sappy, romantic kind of gal. I just love the damn holiday for all the girly, heart-infested crap that they throw at us every year. Not saying that these custom necklaces by Poupette are!! (Oh boy..)
I first spotted these at a shop in Los Feliz a year ago, not knowing who they were by, so I was really glad to have stumbled upon their website. Choose from a word, initial, or even a silhouette! I love the endearingly handcrafted look of these. Plus they are so the opposite of anything Tiffany’s. Yuck.

Pink diamonds! Rose gold! Hearts galore! From the woman behind Bing Bang!! I love love love the Sweet Hearts collection from Anna Sheffield’s 88 line. But not as much as I will love the boyfriend if he gets me one for Valentine’s Day!!! Ain’t too proud to beg..
He can also get one for himself if he so chooses from their 88 Men collection, though he is not much of a jewelry man.
It’s ok. More for me.

These necklaces from the Ghost World collection of Ghost & Lola are like a treasure of trinkets in each piece. Plus inspirations like Edgar Allan Poe make these fitting for my favorite time of the year.

So naturally I am drawn to all the colorful gems from jewelry designer Colette Steckel, who was featured in a recent issue of the L.A. Times Magazine. And I especially love her entrepreneurial spirit – she was already making and selling hair accessories in Mexico at the age of 13!

I don’t really buy into a lot of charity products (pun!), but I really like this one from Marc by Marc Jacobs and Shopbop: the charm bracelet is actually quite attractive and they donate a generous 50% of the $88 to the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization.
Y-ME has also received the four-star charity rating, which “indicates that Y-ME excels, compared to other charities in America, in successfully managing the finances of the organization in an efficient and effective manner.”
