88 by Anna Sheffield

Pink diamonds! Rose gold! Hearts galore! From the woman behind Bing Bang!! I love love love the Sweet Hearts collection from Anna Sheffield’s 88 line. But not as much as I will love the boyfriend if he gets me one for Valentine’s Day!!! Ain’t too proud to beg..

He can also get one for himself if he so chooses from their 88 Men collection, though he is not much of a jewelry man.

It’s ok. More for me.

Kirsten Dunst, Miu Miu Spring 2008

You cannot go wrong when Kirsten Dunst is in front of the camera, pimping your goods. My senses are inundated - marionette meets freak show meets burlesque. Or something like that. I’d like to think I am resistant to label whoring (you’ll never see me with monogram ANYTHING), but God I want a Miu Miu bag. I mean, how can I say no to that gold-tone logo on smokey grey leather?? Who can resist?!

Corey Lynn Calter, Resort 2007

I am thoroughly enjoying my winter, thank you very much. (It’s summer for more than half the year here in L.A. - I’ll take anything under 60 degrees as an excuse to break out the coats.) Though I can’t help but take note of the Resort collection from the consistently charming Corey Lynn Calter.

I’d like to think of my style as all over the place, but the bohemian 70s has a special place in my fashion-loving heart. I am especially digging the knee-high boots and big floppy hats, much like Serena’s from my Gossip Girl post. And I loved model Angelika from A Model Life! Girl is stunning.

Do check out her equally endearing Holiday collections while you’re at it.

Knitta Please

I am currently shopping around for circular knitting needles to make more hats - love knitting, but you swear you need a gazillion needles to make anything. Which reminded me about Knitta Please. I saw these all over Seattle last summer, where anonymous crafty vandals cozy up various parts of the urban landscape.

Though the group is based in Houston, they have hit up various metropolitan US cities like my beloved Los Angeles and the aforementioned Seattle. Even international cities have fallen victim - this photo is of Paris along the Seine. They know no limits, I tell you.

Mooka Kinney, Fall 2007

These pieces are from their Fall 2007 line (ugh! so last year!), but Mooka Kinney doesn’t seem to be designing for any particular season or trend. Plus I was never one to resist a happily printed, vintage-inspired frock any time of the year.

Gossip Girl

Since the writers’ strike began (The Office, miss you <3), I started catching up on shows I never watched but wanted to. Okay, just Gossip Girl. At first, I was like, Oh no, not another Laguna Beach-inspired replacement for The OC. Then I started hearing good things about the wardrobe. So far, I’m impressed with the production, love their choice of music, the cast surprisingly un-annoying, and yes, beautiful, and their clothes are flyyy. Anything goes from Payless shoes to Marc by Marc Jacobs dresses. And I love that the styles range from of-the-moment trendy to step-back-in-time iconic.

I’m hooked, needless to say.

Speaking of minimalism.. I find this image so inspiring and creatively fitting for the beginning of a new year. It’s so Stinna Persson-esque in its sensuality, but with a pared down Japanese aesthetic. Check out Ohgushi’s website for more prettily painted gals, including work for Pucci.

Start Here

One of my new year’s resolutions was to start journaling on paper again - something I haven’t done in probably a decade, seriously - so I was in the market for a good-looking but unfussy notebook. I can’t write in something too pretty. My handwriting is not worthy.

So naturally I gravitated towards the simplicity and refreshing design approach of New York’s Start Here. I think they just get it. Notebooks that can be used and abused and still maintain their aesthetic appeal. They make them in a rainbow of colors, so you don’t have to get the pink one either :)

Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2008

Dying at the loveliness that is a Zac Posen creation. Does he know how to make clothes or what. This luxurious rainbow of muted pinks shows up in his appropriately themed Pre-Fall 2008 collection.

United Pets

It’s been awhile since I posted any pup products isn’t it? To be honest, as much as I like pink, I don’t particularly favor the color for dogs, because most of the stuff out there looks really tacky. Which is why I was so happy to rediscover United Pets. When I moved into my first apartment, I couldn’t take my dog with me and bought the cutest fishbowl for it hoping that I could keep a fish in there or something. They’ve since expanded their line to include so many more cute yet well-designed pet accessories.
